Statto - ported to drupal

As well as my "noderunner" mind-mapping protocol I've now ported the "statto" tracking and testing implementation to work with drupal. It doesn't need to track as much as with a metasite2 implementation because of how drupal's urls work, but the main components: ad-channel, page-variable and testo variable tracking and in-page testing are all fully functional within the drupal framework.

At the moment it's still in early testing but this is another significant step for me towards using drupal on a more serious level e.g. commercial sites.

There's not really anything to show for it but it's good news and real progress in any case. I'm hoping to persuade Steev from initsix to turn it into a drupal module to avoid cumbersome duplication ;)

It's bizzare that this crazy little script I wrote initially in 2004 (!) has evolved and has actually played a pivotal role in the efficiency of a number of sales funnels and peoples' businesses.

On that note I'm actually getting requests from potential clients who want to use statto on their existing website/server, i.e. not my server. One of the main principles behind statto was the highest possible level of accuracy, which comes from the site being hosted on the same server as statto.

Whilst I do believe there's a performance/accuracy hit by using statto from a different site, to be honest even slightly lossy tracking is better than no tracking at all so as long as you're aware of that and allow for it in your test/stat results statto could still be very useful for a lot of folks.

Consequently I'm thinking of opening statto up for "off-site" subscriptions.

Statto works in pageviews... "calls" - and pricing is tiered accordingly.
