Since late 2007 I've been fortunate in being able to offer my clients relatively luxurious website hosting.

You can get hosting anywhere and probably quite a bit cheaper so why should you consider hosting with me?

I mostly do what's called "managed hosting". Most of my clients never actually uploaded their website or ever will make changes to the website directly themselves. They can, and some do but for the most part that stuff "just happens".

The other main advantage we get is complete control over the hosting environment. I generally only host my website clients and they tend to be commercial sites. And when you're about making sales, that level of control matters since it gives us the ability to adapt rapidly and with as little fuss as possible.

Gradually I'm moving my sites across to Virtual Machines for simpler backup and moving between locations, as well as allowing us seamless entry to cloud computing platform. This means I can now offer hosting on both windows and linux platforms.

Statto/Testo
Another advantage available to my hosted sites is Free use of my tracking and testing package "Statto". Statto is a realtime, IP and page-view specific tracking/testing package.

Using Statto/Testo It's possible to measure both server-side-script-testing variables as well as client-side-script-testing variables (at the same time if need be). I only run this on sites I host since I believe remote call systems like this and analytics are susceptible to errors and can result in "lost" clicks which can lead to marketing decisions made on incorrect data. Since Statto runs on the same server as the website itself the speed is as good as it can feasibly be for maximum tracking accuracy.
